Seminar on Famous Poets Begins in Kabul
A two-day seminar began in Kabul on Wednesday to honor renowned Afghan culturists and poets.
Organized by a recently-established cultural committee, the event is aimed at paying tribute to Aisha Durrani, Gul Pacha Ulfat, Khalilullah Khalili and Abdul Rahman Pajhwok.
“In particular, the seminar is aimed at acknowledging the outstanding work of these famous people”, said Kabul Governor Zabihullah Mujaddedi, tens of poets, authors, university professors and government officials are taking part in the event.
Minister of Information and Culture Dr. Syeed Makhdoom Raheen read out President Hamid Karzai’s message to the participants.
The president welcomed the committee’s initiative.
