NPC Approves 52 Contracts Worth Over 8.1 Billion Afghanis

Kabul (BNA) Chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, the National Procurement Commission (NPC), the other day approved 52 of up to 89 contracts worth over 8.1 billion afs, a statement from the Presidential Press Office said Monday.
The contracts included construction of road between Baghlan and Bamyan with the length of up to 19, 58 kilometers, belonging to the project of Hindokush road connectivity, relating to the ministry of transportation, contracts on procurement of maintaining consultative services for controlling Afghanistan airspace relating to the same ministry and many other related contracts, according to the statement.
The country’s president instructed the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Urban development and Lands and the Kabul Municipality to investigate the state-run properties within 6 months and report to the Presidential High Office, the statement quoted.
In addition, demand for the cancelation of procurement process of consultative services for maintenance of work on the Kabul-Logar with the length of seven kilometers, belonging to the ministry of transport was also approved by the commission, the statement added.
The president insisted that no delay for the full implementation of the projects was acceptable as the country’s citizens were waiting for the completely applying of the projects by the responsible organs in the country.  The meeting was also attended by representatives for the national and international overseers, including representatives from the Integrity Watch Afghanistan (IWA), SIGAR, and representatives of the USAID, said the statement.
