FM Discusses Peace Process with US Chargé d’Affaires in Kabul

Kabul (BNA) Acting Foreign Minister, Mohammad Haneef Atmar, held a video conference call with Chargé d’Affaires of US Embassy in Kabul, Ambassador Ross Wilson.
Their discussions focused on Afghan peace process, regional cooperation and the importance of strengthening international consensus on peace process. 
Both sides exchanged views on mutual efforts of Afghan Government and release of prisoners, reduction of violence and immediate start of talks between the Government of Afghanistan and Taliban.
Ambassador Wilson highlighted the important outcomes from the recent international and regional meetings on Strengthening Consensus for Peace.
In addition, they exchanged views on the importance of regional connectivity, expansion of trade and strengthening multilateral cooperation; especially between Afghanistan, Pakistan and the Central Asian states.
In closing, both sides reiterated their commitments towards reaching lasting peace in Afghanistan.
