Taliban Fighters Sustained Heavy Losses in Kandahar Latest Conflicts

Kabul (BNA) More than 16 fighters of Taliban group were killed during clashes with Afghan security forces in southern Kandahar province within the last 36 hours.
Maiwand army corps in the south of the country by releasing a statement reported, the conflicts took place in relevant areas of Marouf and Arghandab districts of the province, in which 16 terrorists were killed and several others were wounded.
The clashes occurred, while a group of Taliban fighters stormed on Afghan security forces’ checkpoints in the mentioned districts, the statement added.
According to another report, Afghan national police by discovering and confiscating 20 round of different type of mines succeeded to prevent several deadly incident in crowded areas of Kandahar province.
Local officials in Kandahar claimed that Taliban fighters are responsible for the foiled mine plantings, but Taliban said nothing about the incident so far.
