Kabul (BNA) As half part of population of the society, the women make efforts for ever beside men for freedom, and high-headedness of their society in various political, social, economic and scientific fields, so they have prominent role in determination of leader of the country as well.
But unfortunately, in Afghanistan, their role is symbolic. It should be mentioned that in a country like Afghanistan that the level of people`s awareness is low especially that of women, the leaders of the country are elected mostly by men. This stems from the rule of men in the society and family and non-existence of confidence between both man and woman. If government based on people`s pillar come to power in the country no doubt, the women would have their emboldened role in the connection toward freedom of expression, equality of rights between man and woman and as a whole the society would move towards a healthy itinerary. Election of a suitable and pious president through active participation of nation is the duty of all, especially women. Focusing to the time of holding presidential elections, women would also display their political maturity in this field like other issues as well. Head of women commission, civil society and human rights in parliament Mrs. Fauzia Kofi believes that during recent decade, the people of Afghanistan are witnessing of four elections including presidential and parliament elections. In first presidential elections 40 percent of all votes were belong to women. This indicates that the nomination of 380 women in parliament elections was indicator of a great social transformation in the country.
The women not only asked for equal participation with man in this election, but they showed their presence as a nominee as well. She added that beside the prominent role of women in election process, in some polling stations, the men cast their votes instead of women. This shows a fraud in election. Ms. Kofi says that the 1914 elections is a vital issue and believes that we should do aware Afghan women house to house and inform them how they attend in election and how their votes is important.
In connection with worsening security situation in 2014 she said that the existence of unscrupulous armed men in the name of local police or Arbaki creates harass among people and it is possible that the women would not attend in this process. She added that the economic problem is one of obstacles faced by women towards their nominations for presidential elections and their political supports besides economic problems are faint-colored more. Dual behave before women nominees, security problems and non-ability of them in expressing their capabilities are the matters faced by women in these process.  It is mentionable that not only the role of women in presidential and parliament elections be prominent, but they themselves should attend in both elections and candidate themselves for the same.
One of women teachers of the country, Shahla also believes that today, the Afghan women can play good role in the society. They should be made aware about elections. So all should joint hands so a legal, democratic and transparent election be held.
