Afghanistan Situation Trusty: UN

Kabul (BNA) The UN Special Representative to Afghanistan, in his meeting with First Vice-President, Mohammad Younus Qanooni said that the situation in Afghanistan was sure; Bakhtar News Agency quoted a presidential press office statement as saying on Tuesday.
According to the source, the country’s First Vice-President, Mohammad Younus Qanooni in a meeting with the UN Special Representative to Afghanistan, Jon Kubis appreciated the UN and the UNAMA office’s extensive support to the Afghan election and assured the process will be held in its scheduled time, with the related organs’ full preparation for the process.
The vice-president rejected if the security threats were at a level could undermine the people participation in the process and that the voters by their wide presence on the Election Day would prove their important role to build their future, according to BNA.
For his part, noting the UN’s full efforts for the people of Afghanistan and the ongoing changes in the country, Jan Kubis said the UN and all the member countries are supporting Afghanistan.
He said the situation in Afghanistan was sure and added: “We are in close contact and full coordination with the Independent Elections Commission (IEC) and the Independent Complaints Commission (ICC) to have a fair and transparent election.”
