Amended Draft Law On Elections To Be Discussed in Cabinet’s Next Session

Kabul (BNA) Leading body of national unity government prepared to deliver amended draft law on elections to cabinet’s next session after getting legal vision of independent commission for overseeing the implementation of constitution in particular legal stance of the legislative decree.
After having visions of the respective commission, working group of the government has legally and technically reviewed the draft law during its separate continued sessions in the past two weeks.
Laws committee of the government headed by second vice president Sarwar Danesh and members of the working group have codified the draft based on suggestions of electoral reforms commission and in the light of consultations and visions of civil society members, political parties and international expert organizations.
The working group of the government on its last session held Sunday night at presidential palace, decided that after the draft was finalized should be delivered to coming session of the cabinet for final discussion and approval so that the country’s president would ratify the approved draft by cabinet through a legislative decree in order to accelerate reforms process of the electoral system.
