Avalanches Victims Increase In Badakhshan

Kabul (BNA) Victims due to snow avalanches in Shiki district of Badakhshan province have reached to 50 people. 
Nearly ten people are still stuck in the snow avalanches in Shirin Nazm village of the district. 
According to Shamsurahman Shams, deputy governor of Badakhshan, a number of residents of the area might be still stuck under the avalanches in their houses. 
Rescue teams have been dispatched to the area for saving the people, but two helicopters were not able to take the urgent assistance to the area due to snowy weather. 
A number of Badakhshan representatives in Wolisi Jirga also arrived in the province to accelerate the rescue process in the area. 
Shirin Nazm village has nearly 200 residents, 50 of whom have lost their lives in the avalanches while ten of them have sustained injuries.
