Kabul (BNA) Chief Executive, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah in a gathering of the International Day for Literature on Sunday, called the role of religious scholars very important in improvement of literature in the country, a statement from his office said.
He said illiteracy should be fought until its elimination countrywide and that the education curriculum should be set based on the Islamic and society values, as in the long past the system of education had been according to the leading system ideology’s popularization, the statement quoted.
“After 15 years, despites big changes in different fields, we are not still in a position to remain satisfied with improvement in literacy field. We should do more in this field,” said the CE adding this was not only the responsibility of the government, but anybody should extend cooperation in this respect. According to another report, the CE met with a number of Kapisa elders and vowed to address their problems in the province.
He said the government was fully ready to remove chaos and disorders in the province, where the elders complained about the increase.
