Deadly Car Bombing Thwarted In Faryab Province

Kabul (BNA) The Afghan intelligence officials have thwarted a deadly car bombing plot in northern Faryab province on Saturday.
The National Directorate of Security (NDS) announced that the Afghan intelligence operatives discovered and seized a car packed with heavy explosives  in northern Faryab province.
The statement further added that the militants were looking to carry out attack against the election campaign teams using the vehicle-borne improvised explosive  device (IED).
According to National Directorate of Security (NDS), the explosives seized from the vehicle included 23 rounds of artillery shells, one BM-12 rocket, one BM-21 rocket, 2 barrels of explosives, 2 gas cylinders and other types of explosives.
NDS officials said the vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (IED) was seized before the militants manage to target the election campaign teams.
