Govt. Decisive On Holding Elections, Danesh

Kabul (BNA) Sarwar Danesh, Second Vice President met UN special representative, Tadamichi Yamamoto and his deputy, Ms. Kaliniz who has newly appointed, here in Kabul on Tuesday, Bakhtar News Agency (BNA) reported.
In the meeting, both sides discussed variety of issues pertaining UN continued cooperation with the government of Afghanistan and electoral related issues, the report further said.
Congratulating the Afghan government success in Warsaw Summit, the UN special representative said, ‘the summit indicated that the UN and world community will continue cooperation with Afghanistan and the global consensus is completely clear in this respect’, the report added.
Second VP also appreciated the UN assistances to the government and people of Afghanistan, particularly, Mr. Yamamoto’s, adding the destiny of presidential legislative decree on electoral reforms will be cleared in near future, the report continued.
Danesh also said the government of Afghanistan is decisive to hold the elections in the current year and necessary measures have been taken in this regard.
Likewise, VP Danesh asked for continued cooperation of the organization in the election process.
At the end, UN special representative assured of his organization’s continued cooperation with the government of Afghanistan in the field of electoral reforms.
