Kabul (BNA) The President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, met yesterday morning with the head and members of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan’s negotiating team at the presidential palace, a statement said.
During the meeting, which was also attended by the First Lady, the Vice Presidents and the Chairman of the High Council for National Reconciliation, the negotiating team of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan shared its report with the President on the first round of talks with Taliban in Doha, the presidential press office statement added.
President Ghani thanked the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan for effectively representing the country in the first round of talks with the Taliban. The president asked the negotiating team to share the developments in the first round of the Doha talks with the people.
Emphasizing on taking the views of all segments of the society in the peace process, the President instructed the members of the negotiating team of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to consult with people before the start of the second round of talks to represent them in the negotiations, the statement added.
