NDS Thwarts Coordinated Attack In Laghman

Mehtarlam (BNA) The Afghan intelligence operatives thwarted a coordinated attack plot in Mehtarlam city, the capital of eastern Laghman province.
The National Directorate for Security (NDS) said a group of 6 terrorists belonging to the Taliban group were arrested in connection to the attack plot.
A statement released by NDS said the group was led by Rahmatullah and the other detained militants have been identified as Habib-ur-Rahman also known as Bidar, Syed Yaqoob, Abdul Saboor, Ghorftan, and Zahidullah.  According to the statement, the group was appointed by the Taliban leader, Abdul Wahid to carry out a coordinated attack in Mehtarlam city. The Afghan intelligence operatives also confiscated 3 Ak-47 rifles with 18 magazines, 2 pistols, 2 binoculars, and some other military equipment, the statement added. The anti-government armed militant groups have not commented regarding the report so far. The Taliban militants and insurgents belonging to other terrorist networks are operational in a number of the remote districts of Laghman province where they often conduct subversive activities.
