Kabul (BNA) President Hamid Karzai received for a farewell meeting yesterday Michael Steiner, the German special representative to Afghanistan and Pakistan whose term of mission has been ended recently. President Karzai thanked Mr. Steiner and the German government for its efforts in organizing a successful conference in Bonn on Afghanistan. The president expressed gratitude to Mr. Steiner for the efforts the exerted in strengthening the relations between the two countries during his tenure, and wished him success in his future careers. Steiner said he was honored to have served Afghanistan and tanked president Karzai and the Afghan government for the support he enjoyed during his mission in this post.
