President Karzai Receives Russian Special Envoy To Afghanistan, Pakistan

Kabul (BNA) President Hamid Karzai met with Zamir Kabulov the Russian special envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan here in the Presidential Palace on Tuesday and exchanged views on boosting bilateral relations between Afghanistan and Russia and situation in the region. 
According to presidential press office to BNA, besides conveying the regards and good wishes of Russian president Vladimir Putin to his Afghan counterpart, the Russian envoy also thanked the government of Afghanistan over its independent and real stance with regard to recent development in Crimea and Ukraine.
The Russian diplomat also pointed out that Russia is committed to economic and military cooperation with Afghanistan. In his remarks, President Karzai said that Russia has important role in the region and Russia’s economic and political stability helps stabilize the region. Assuring of enhancing relations between Afghanistan and Russia, President Karzai noted that next president and next government of Afghanistan would further boost the relations between the two nations.
