Presidential Delegation Completes Probe On Herat Women Prisoners’ Protest

Kabul (BNA) The delegation sent by the presidential office had completed its investigation into the women prisoners’ protests after interviewing with each of them and noting their demands, BNA said.
The Herat governor, while appreciating the delegation efforts for probing the women prisoners’ hunger strike asked for the main reason behind their protest.
The delegation also assured to submit their covered report to the presidential office as soon as possible.
Some 13 women prisoners had went on hunger strike last week, and closed the prison gate to the guards and prevented commutation of the officials and individuals.
They ended to their strike after meeting with the presidential office dispatched delegation.
Since the last several years, this is the first time that the women are going to hunger strike in the western Herat provincial jail.
