Qanooni Meets Head of HPC

Kabul (BNA) First vice president Mohammad Younus Qanooni held meeting with Salahudin Rabbani the head of High Peace Council (HPC) and leader of Jamiat-e-Islami of Afghanistan and a number of this party members yesterday. Presidential press office said BNA, in the meeting, matters relating the current situation of the country and coming presidential elections came under discussion.
The head of HPC in the meeting said that achieving peace in the country is the prime need of the people of Afghanistan and the people have fed up with the war and want peace.
According to another report, the first vice president also met the chief of army staff General Shir Mohammad Karimi and officials from the defense ministry and other government bodies yesterday. He also met with numerous parliamentarians from Badakhshan province, youth and intellectuals separately.
Hinting to present sensitive issues, the vice president said that Afghanistan is the common home of all Afghans and it is for all of us to get our beloved country rid of current imbroglio.
According to another report, Mohammad Younus Qanooni also received Ghulam Ghous the former governor of Kapisa province, head of Kapisa provincial council and some other elders of the province. The vice president in the meeting called upon the elders of Kapisa to work with unity for ensuring peace and stability and transparent elections in the province.
