Qasr-e- Paghman Under Construction to Host Nawroz Festival

Kabul (BNA) Nawroz festival which was recognized an international festival by the UNESCO is marked with special zeal and enthusiasms in some south and central Asian states including Afghanistan, Iran, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrghzstan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Pakistan and Kurd dominated regions of Iraq, Last year, Islamic Republic of Iran hosted international Nawroz festival with the participation of head of states from the Nawroz zone countries.
In the ceremony, it was decided that Nawroz must be held in international level every year in the capital of Nawroz countries.
Afghanistan feels pride and honor that it hosts this year’s international Nawroz festival in Paghman beautiful valley located outskirt of Kabul province.
Considering the important impacts of International Nawroz Festival on regional cooperation and solidarity, the government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan established the Nawroz Celebration Commission to undertake necessary measures to mark the festival in a highly professional and acceptable manner. For this purpose, the government ordered the rehabilitation and renovation of Nawroz celebration venue in Paghman Hill to offer the great hospitality to the distinguished guests from several countries that have honored the Afghan nation by attending the festival.
“The design of the Qargha palace was recommended by the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing Affairs, the palace is consisting of a major hall which has the capacity of 700 guests at one time including three small conference rooms with 14 room each in two story, special dining room has been designed for VIPs, an ancient palace also exists on the hill which damaged during war,” said Engineer Sibghatullah, Paghman palace engineer,” all construction material used for the construction is prepared from domestic sources.”
It’s quite important to mention that an amount of $ 16 million have been allocated for the construction and 91 percent works have been completed.
The site would be handed over to the presidential office on 25 Hoot.
