Second Round of Elections Held In Lower House For First Deputy Speaker, Secretary Posts

Kabul (BNA) Wolisi Jirga of national assembly held yesterday second round of elections for the jirga’s first deputy speaker and secretariat posts. 
According to lower house press office to BNA, in a session held under the chairmanship of the jirga’s speaker Abdul Rauf Ibrahimi, volunteers’ members for nomination of the posts were asked to officially declare their applications.
Thus, Gul Pacha Majidi, Ghulam Sarwar Fayez and Ghulam Hussain Nasiri for the post of first deputy speaker, Abdul Rauf Inami, Semeen Barakzai and Zakia Sangin for the post of the jirga’s secretariat submitted their applications to the jirga’s speaker.
After the nominees delivered their programs to the session, members of the jirga cast votes in boxes. In this round of the elections, 96 votes were specified for taking the posts of first deputy speaker and secretariat and as a result of counting the votes, Gul Pacha Majidi took 85 votes, Ghulam Hussain Nasiri took 33 votes, while Ghulam Sarwar took 20 votes, so no nominees could take necessary votes for taking the posts.
