Some ANA Officials Sacked Over Ghaziabad Incident

Kabul (BNA) A spokesman for the Ministry of Defense informed of sacking a number of ANA personnel for their negligence related to Ghaziabad incident of Kunar province yesterday.
According to BNA reporter, Gen. Mohammad Zaher Azimi spokesman of Ministry of Defense in a press conference said, “The decision has been made in an inclusive session of MoD high council held under the chairmanship of Minister of Defense General Bismillah Mohammadi.” He said after MoD high council heard Chief of Staff’s report related Ghaziabad incident, it was decided that commander of 2th brigade, commander of 3rd battalion, commander of the battalion’s 4th company, operation commander of 3rd battalion, directors of Silab’s Corps 2nd bridged and 2nd battalion should be sacked and introduced to relevant organs for investigation for their negligence over Ghaziabad incident. According to Azimi, the council praised Afghan people for their good feelings and overall support from Afghan National Army, saying the support and cooperation of people would give further power to the soldiers.
