Statement On Pakistani Chopper’s Emergency Landing

Kabul (BNA) The Islamic Republic of Pakistan has officially asked Afghanistan to let Pakistan MI-17 helicopter fly to Uzbekistan for repairing through Afghanistan space.
Based on the official request, Afghanistan independent civil aviation authority by registering the helicopter’s specifications only permit the helicopter to fly over Afghanistan space for repairing.
Presided over by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, national Security Council’s session discussed yesterday emergency landing of a Pakistan helicopter in outskirts of Azra district of Logar and taken the following decisions:
· A delegation was appointed to review all dimensions of the issue and also if the helicopter was the one which has been registered, or had similar specifications.
· The session also tasked a committee to assess current laws, regulations and procedures in order to address possible gaps in this regard and deliver a conclusive plan to cabinet’s law committee for completely preventing repetition of such incidents.
The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan has the right to adopt diplomatic measures in this regard before results of current reviews.
